The holly tree and the berries it produces have been associated with Christmas and its festivities for centuries. From wreaths to fireplaces and even the top of our Christmas puddings, holly is everywhere in our homes during the holiday season, meaning it had to take a place on the list!
But one thing you may not know about the plant is that although the red berries it produces may look like a tasty treat, the fruit is actually toxic to humans. Maybe not so merry after all!
