The chill of the wintry months has never been too far away for Green Team Interiors over the summer, as we have been busy preparing for this year’s Christmas installations! However, yesterday (September 22) was an important day for the astronomical calendar, with the Autumnal Equinox marking the end of the warmer months.

In typical fashion, Google commemorated the change of seasons in style with a brand new doodle!

During the equinox, the plane of the Earth’s equator passes the centre of the sun. This theoretically means that both the northern and southern hemispheres have the same amount of daylight as they swap seasons.

Leaves will slowly lose their green colour as they stop producing chlorophyll, making way for beautiful shades ranging from calm yellows to bold reds. Some may even show through shades of purple, due to chemical changes such as anthocyanin pigments caused by the cooler temperatures.

We can’t wait to continue our preparations for the festive season! So, if you’re looking to spread some corporate festive cheer, download our 2016 Christmas brochure to browse the collections we have available.
