Refreshing and revitalising – a good combination to combat the January blues, right? These are the ideas behind Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017: Greenery (Pantone 15-0343).
Each year, Pantone select a colour that not only reflects what is taking place in global culture, but also serves as an expression of mood and attitude. As you may expect, here at Green Team Interiors we were very excited to see this year’s choice, proving that our innate need for a connection to nature is more important than ever!
As a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring”, Greenery is an encouragement for us to take a deep breath and immerse ourselves in the beauty of the natural world.
Pantone’s Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, commented: “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”
Along with the Colour of the Year, Pantone have also showed how the “trans-seasonal” shade lends itself to a number of colour combinations in a selection of 10 palettes, all of which can be explored on the Pantone website.
