Putting the Team into Green Team Interiors

A recent feature on Radio 4 told of the renaissance that some towns are experiencing thanks to the ‘extended weekend’, with more people than ever choosing to limit their office time to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Many businesses had thought that this was a temporary phenomenon, but it appears that ‘WFH’ is here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future.

So what is to become of large workplaces?

It appears that rather than downsize or mothball entire floors, many business owners are working with design consultants to make offices more attractive, creating places that people actually want to visit.

And that’s where we come in.

We work extensively with office fit-out specialists, producing plans, designing planting and maintenance schemes, installing displays and of course, making sure that the right plant goes in the right space.

It’s what we do for all of our clients, but there are a couple of key differences when we work with interior design companies.

First, we often work on a ‘white label’ basis, our client is the design company, not the end user. We become, to all intents and purposes, part of their team. It’s something that works well for us and the design company, and we have worked on enough projects to appreciate that we are looking after someone else’s reputation as well as our own.

Second, there are often installation constraints and tight schedules that we have to abide by. The world of interior design moves quickly, and our time is other people’s money, a fit-out cannot be delayed because the ‘plant people’ have kept everyone waiting.

It helps enormously that we are dedicated plant professionals, we do not get involved with anything else so we can concentrate completely on ‘getting our job jobbed’.

Working with designers is exciting and rewarding. We are helping to transform workplaces and making them welcoming for staff and visitors. You would be amazed at how a good design team can convert an unused space from drab to fab quickly and cost-effectively.
